Published: September 21, 2012

The third annual Joshua’s Walk will be held in Macon Saturday to raise money for a cure for pediatric brain cancer.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. The run/walk starts at 9 a.m. Registration is $20 and includes a commemorative T-shirt.

You can register as a team or individual. Visit www.joshuaswish.org and click on the register button or click on www.firstgiving.com/joshuaswish/2012.

Amanda’s Cakery, at 321 Cotton Ave., has made special cupcakes in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September. All proceeds from those sales through Sept. 22 benefit Joshua’s Wish. Also, all profits from Chili’s locations on Sept. 24 will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, according to Joshua’s Wish.

Cancer survivor Hannah Renee Layfield will be singing the national anthem again at this year’s walk and her mother, Tammy, will share Hannah’s story.
