Tyler Perry’s Macon show canceled

Tyler Perry announced Monday he has canceled the final weeks of his current tour of “Madea Gets a Job,” including two Sunday performances at the Macon Coliseum.

Perry announced the cancellation on “The Tom Joyner Morning Show,” saying the tour was postponed until he and the promoters can figure out a way to beat the scalpers who have raised ticket prices out of the reach of his fans.

Tickets that had been purchased may be returned to the point of purchase for a refund, according to maconcentreplex.com.

About 30 cities were affected by the cancellation, Macon Coliseum sales manager Brenda Thompson said.

“I hated to see it canceled, but I was relieved it was everyone and not just us,” she said.
