A Fort Bragg, North man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 41 South near Bolingbroke, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Anthony Carlos Burge, 35, died after his Kawasaki motorcycle hit another vehicle attempting to turn near Mt. Zion Baptist Church about 3:15 p.m. Friday, sheriff’s spokeswoman Allison Selman-Willis said.

According to a news release, investigators determined Burge was driving southbound behind a dump truck, which was following a Honda Civic. The Civic attempted to make a left turn at the same time Burge tried to pass the dump truck. Burge’s motorcycle hit the Civic, and Burge was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead on the scene, the release stated.

The Civic’s driver, Dayne Scott Sullivan, of Lizella, was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia with no serious injuries, the release stated. Sullivan and Burge both used turn signals, and Burge was wearing a helmet.

No charges are expected.
