Danville City Councilman Jack Scarborough will be laid to rest Saturday morning in Jeffersonville.

Graveside services are planned for 11 a.m. at New Providence Baptist Church on Ga. 96 in Jeffersonville.

Scarborough, 42, served on the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department for nearly 10 years.

He was elected to the Danville City Council last fall and began his first term in January.

He died Tuesday night of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Scarborough is survived by his wife, Susan R. Scarborough and adult son, Ryan Scarborough.

Reece Funeral Home in Jeffersonville has charge of arrangements.
