Just a quick note today because I'm mega-busy. However, tomorrow I'll be running my Emmy picks column before my furlough next week.
Anyway, reports from FX say that not only were the ratings for "Sons of Anarchy" Tuesday the best-ever for the show, but they may very well be the best ever for anything on FX.
During the initial broadcast, "Sons" scored 5.4 million viewers, and when you throw in the ratings for the broadcast at 11:30 and 1 am, that number jumps to 7.5 million for the night, according to TheWrap.
More impressive than that, however, is the fact that it looks like "Sons" ratings improved by about 10 percent in total viewers since last year, which is almost unheard of for a show in its fifth season. "Sons" also set records with last year's season premiere, but nothing like this.
Hopefully, it might get the attention of an Emmy voter or two, but not likely.
THURSDAY'S BEST BETS: "X-Factor" continues tonight on Fox at 8 p.m., followed by the season premiere of "Glee" at 9 p.m. on a new night, featuring guest star Kate Hudson -- one more reason for me to skip it. It goes against the season finale of "America's Got Talent" from 8-10 p.m. on NBC.
On cable, "Wilfred" and "Louie" are new on FX from 10-11 p.m.
