A 47-year-old Macon man has been charged with rape in connection with a Sunday night incident. Billy Steel Sr., of Jeffersonville Road, was arrested just after 9 p.m. Monday, according to Bibb County jail records. A Macon police report of the incident does not disclose the location of the alleged rape or information about the victim, other than that the victim knew the alleged attacker. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. and 9:11 p.m. Sunday, according to the report.

The Macon man charged with rape following a Sunday night incident is accused of assaulting a 17-year-old girl in a shed behind his Jeffersonville Road home, according to an arrest warrant.

Billy Keith Steel Sr., 47, has been held at the Bibb County jail since his Monday arrest. He doesn’t have a bond, according to jail records.

Steel told police he didn’t rape the girl, but that he had had sex with her on “several other occasions,” according to the warrant, released Wednesday.

The girl told authorities that Steel told her what they were doing was “their secret,” according to the warrant.
