GSU's Monken first to visit TD Club this season

Georgia Southern head coach Jeff Monken is Monday night's speaker at the Macon Touchdown Club.
The club meets Monday at The Methodist Home for Children and Youth at 304  Pierce Ave. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. Cost for non-members is $30.
Rutland is this week's featured high school. Mercer head coach Bobby Lamb is next week's speaker.
Monken is in his third season with the Eagles. Georgia Southern was upset 23-21 on Saturday by The Citadel, hosts Elon on Sept. 22.
Monken is 22-9 at Georgia Southern. The third-ranked Eagles went 10-5 last season and reached the national semifinals, and were a No. 3 preseason in both major FCS preseason polls.
Monken joined then- Georgia Southern head coach Paul Johnson at Navy and Georgia Tech before taking the Georgia Southern position in 2009.
The 45 year old Joliet, Ill., native graduated from Millikin University in Illinois and has a master's degree from Hawaii.
