Correction

A story in Sunday’s paper about Hispanic youths seeking protection from immigration enforcement needs to be corrected. There is no law that prevents illegal immigrants from entering college, though some University System of Georgia policies prevent illegal immigrants from attending certain public universities. Furthermore, deferment does not directly affect a person’s ability to attend college but rather eliminates the threat of deportation for two years.
