Cherry Blossom Festival pageant applications available

Applications are now available for the 31st annual Cherry Blossom Festival pageants, which includes the Little Mr. and Miss as well as The Queen & Princess Cherry Blossom Pageant.

Children 4 to 6 years old who haven’t yet started the first grade are eligible for the Little Mr. and Miss Pageant, which will be held Oct. 20 at the Douglass Theatre in downtown Macon. Young women from 17 to 22 may enter The Queen & Princess Pageant. Winners will be crowned Nov. 3 at Wesleyan College’s Porter Auditorium.

Members of the Royal Court serve as ambassadors during the 2013 festival, which will be held March 15-24.

Opportunities for the winners include formal introductions at the Cherry Blossom Gala, modeling in the fashion show, appearances in the festival’s parade, and also hosting foreign dignitaries and distinguished festival VIPs at events.
