Bibb man charged with hitting ex-wife, other woman, with bat

Published: September 4, 2012

Bibb County deputies arrested a man who allegedly struck his ex-wife and another woman with a baseball bat late Saturday night, according to a sheriff’s report.

Deputies charged Jonathan Mixter, 29, of Shady Rest Road, with aggravated assault and aggravated battery after he allegedly struck his ex-wife in the right leg with the aluminum bat while striking the other woman in the face with the bat. A witness told deputies he heard screams and ran outside to see Mixter hitting the women with the bat.

He grabbed Mixter and forced him to the ground and held him down until law enforcement arrived.

The ex-wife told deputies Mixter was drunk when he arrived at her house, asking her to leave with him. She asked Mixter to leave, and he hit her in the leg. According to the report, Mixter told deputies he hit both women with the bat, but he only grabbed the bat after the male witness hit him in the face, and wasn’t trying to hit anyone with the bat.

Mixter was taken to the Bibb County jail, where he was later released on $16,700 bond.
