10 people killed in Labor Day weekend accidents

Labor Day weekend accidents claimed at least 10 lives in Georgia between 6 p.m. Friday and midnight Monday.

Two people died in a fiery, head-on collision in Jasper County on Henderson Mill Road near County Line Road just before midnight Monday.

The Georgia Department of Public Safety reported traffic fatalities in Cobb, Gwinnett and Henry counties.

Georgia State Patrol posts in Madison, Douglas, Toccoa, Valdosta and Cartersville are also investigating fatal accidents in their regions.

Troopers investigated 373 accidents that injured 230 people.

The Georgia State Patrol also arrested 240 people for driving under the influence, issued 983 citations for seat belt violations and recovered six stolen vehicles during the holiday period, according to the Georgia Department of Public Safety.
