Rambo and Ogletree out

Published: September 1, 2012

ATHENS - Safety Bacarri Rambo and inside linebacker Alec Ogletree do appear to be suspended for today's game: Neither player is dressed out to play, and are watching while their teammates begin warmups.

Rambo has been facing a four-game suspension for a reported positive drug test, his second violation of UGA's drug policy.

Ogletree was also reported to have violated the drug policy, bu the length of his suspension was unclear. It was his first known offense, but reported by some media to be a two-game suspension.

Head coach Mark Richt had remained coy about Rambo and Ogletree's status, refusing to say whether they would play.

Either way, the pair of starters join a crowded list of Georgia defensive starters not playing for Georgia: Cornerback Sanders Commings and outside linebacker Chase Vasser are suspended the first two games following offseason arrests, and cornerback Malcolm Mitchell will miss the game with a sprained ankle.

In addition, receiver Marlon Brown is not dressed out. The word from UGA is Brown has a minor muscle strain in his leg; Brown said in a brief conversation that he'd be able to play "for sure" next week at Missouri.
