Macon Purrs N Paws is hosting an open house and adoption event from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday in the strip shopping center at 1546 Rocky Creek Road.
Anne Brennaman, director of the organization, said dozens of cats are available for adoption, including kittens and adult cats, as well as declawed and non-declawed cats. Among the available breeds are Russian blues, Siamese, Maine coon mixes and American shorthairs.
The adoption fee has been reduced from $85 to $60 per cat, and the fee includes all age-appropriate shots, rabies vaccination and a spay or neuter. All black cats and kittens, which are often more difficult to adopt, are two-for-one, Brennaman said.
Senior citizens (ages 65 and older) can receive a fully-vetted adult cat at no cost.
