The AP GHSA high school football poll remains largely unchanged heading into the second week of the football season.

The biggest changes occurred in Class A where Eagle’s Landing Christian fell from the top spot to No. 6 following a close loss to Washington County, which is ranked No. 4 in Class AAA. Lincoln County takes over as the new No. 1, while Wilcox County and Calvary Day follow in the next two spots after moving up from No. 5 and No. 7, respectively. Wilkinson County moved up two spots to No. 4.

Peach County retained its spot on top of the Class AAA poll, pulling seven first-place votes to Buford’s two and Carver-Columbus’ one. WACO moved up a spot to No. 4 after beating ELCA.

Sandy Creek holds the top spot in Class AAAA after being tied at No. 1 with Burke County last week. The Bears fell to No. 8 following a loss to Thomson. Baldwin moved up one spot to No. 4, while Westside and Perry fell just outside the top 10.

Northside remained at No. 2 in Class AAAAA after an off week, while Tucker strengthened its lead on the top spot with a win over Cedar Grove. Northside, which plays No. 4 Flowery Branch this week, received only one first-place vote a week after getting four. Warner Robins dropped two spots to No. 9 despite not playing.

Fitzgerald moved up one spot to No. 2 in Class AA following its win over Jefferson County. Lamar County and Dublin fell to No. 3 and No. 7, respectively, despite not playing. Vidalia entered the poll at No. 10.
