Money magazine: Warner Robins 7th most affordable place to buy a home

Published: August 22, 2012

Money magazine has again named Warner Robins one of the most affordable places to buy a home in the country.

With a median home price of $115,000 in 2010, Warner Robins places seventh out of 25 on the list, featured in the current issue of Money and online at money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag. Meanwhile, the median family income is $63,665.

Residents who buy homes in the cities on the list will see their income go the furthest, according to the website.

Warner Robins was 13th on the list in 2010. It did not rank in 2011.

“While salaries are high, the cost of living is low,” the website states. “Inexpensive land, labor and material costs, as well as an excess of available homes built during the housing boom, have all helped to keep prices down.”

No. 1 on Money’s list of most affordable homes is Spring, Texas, with a median home price of $98,214 and median family income of $72,742.
