Macon police arrested a man accused of striking a woman with a handgun at an apartment complex on Log Cabin Drive Saturday night, a police report said.

Police charged Keontaye Deshun Lyons, 22, of Flamingo Drive with aggravated assault and simple battery after he allegedly struck the victim, Shandericka Freeman, in the head with a handgun after the two got into a verbal altercation.

When officers arrived, witnesses pointed out Lyons as the man who allegedly struck Freeman repeatedly.

Lyons was taken to the Bibb County jail, where he was later released on a $650 bond.
