ATHENS - Georgia has been back at it for almost a week ... well, five days, but it's felt like a week. So I'd say it's about time for a mailbag, right?
As always, you can send in your question, concern or crazed screed about Mike Bobo's play-calling by posting below, sending an e-mail to semerson@macon.com, or tweeting at me at @sethemerson. This week you might also hang out at Weaver D's, because I'll be taking the wife there at some point. She's never been, somehow, in her two years in Athens. Outrageous, I say.
I would also like to use this opportunity to pass along a few philosophical changes that are going on around here. Well, "philosophical" makes it sound more far-reaching than it actually is. But here goes:
On the blog, you may have noticed, that a) there are more stories being posted daily, but they are shorter, and b) there is video. We're going to continue that approach. In the past I've done blogs that were longer and more comprehensive, including a bunch of different subjects in one post. Now, I'm going to try to make every post a bit more centered.
Meanwhile, my longer stories - normally features, or more fleshed-out versions of the news of the day - will be posted on the UGA page. (Click here for the Columbus version and here for the Macon version.)
And on game days, I will post updates to the blog as news warrants, but won't keep a running gameday blog, as I have in the past. Simply put, it's a lot of work to maintain the gameday blog and tweet and make sure I'm actually watching the game closely. So we'll concentrate on tweeting, but after the game the blog will have quotes and important notes, as usual.
All of this is always subject to review and change. Everyone in this business is still trying to figure out the right balance between online, Twitter, video, audio and everything. We're trying this approach and we'll see how it goes.
Anyway ... the mailbag. I'll post it on Wednesday. Fire away.
