The unemployment rates in metro Macon and Warner Robins rose in June, according to figures released Thursday by the Georgia Department of Labor.
The preliminary unemployment rate in metro Macon rose to 10.1 percent in June, up from 9.4 percent in May. Meanwhile, the preliminary unemployment rate in metro Warner Robins rose to 8.1 percent, up from 7.4 percent, according to a Department of Labor news release.
The rates increased because more job seekers entered the work force but were unable to find work, the release states.
