Peach County commissioners voted unanimously Thursday to adopt the fiscal 2013 budget, according to finance officer Marcia Johnson.
Johnson said no residents attended the special-called meeting. None attended the public hearing last week either.
The general fund is $15.96 million for fiscal 2013, which begins Oct. 1. The millage rate will remain at 13.555 mills, as it has since fiscal 2009.
It will be the ninth consecutive year the millage rate has not been raised.
Johnson said the county opts to complete its budget so far ahead of the beginning of the fiscal year because it makes procedural sense. The tax commissioner must file the tax digest and approved millage rate with the state by Aug. 1, so the commissioners determine a budget at the same time.
Otherwise, youre stuck with whatever the millage produces, Johnson said.
