WARNER ROBINS -- The identity of the driver in a single-vehicle wreck Tuesday has been released.

Edric Carter, 33, of Warner Robins, was in stable condition late Tuesday at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, said Houston County sheriff’s Deputy Justin Hall, a traffic investigator.

Carter was driving a 2010 Nissan Altima north on U.S. 41 just south of Crestview Church Road when he veered off the road and struck a tree, Hall said.

“It goes to show that seat belts and air bags save lives,” Hall said of the crash. “All the safety features on the car did their job.”

The crash was called into 911 at 4:38 p.m.
