Peach County's Robinson commits to Clemson

Published: July 20, 2012

Peach County’s all-state wide receiver Demarcus Robinson committed to Clemson Friday.

Robinson went to a cookout for recruits and their families in Clemson, where he gave a verbal commitment to Tigers’ head coach Dabo Swinney.

Peach County head coach Chad Campbell said Robinson’s mother liked Clemson and gave her son the go-ahead to commit. Robinson also considered Florida, Georgia and Oregon.

Robinson earned all-state honors after helping lead Peach County to the Class AAA state championship game in 2011. The Trojans lost to Burke County in the title game.

Robinson caught 54 passes for 1,024 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. He caught game-winning touchdowns in wins over Warner Robins and Carrollton.
