WARNER ROBINS -- A woman was taken to Houston Medical Center for observation after a fire broke out in the kitchen of her Warner Robins apartment late Tuesday night.
Warner Robins fire Assistant Chief Randy Davis said firefighters responding to the 11:30 p.m. fire at Shadowood Apartments at 200 Engracia Drive could see the woman leaning from her bedroom window.
One firefighter helped the woman outside, while another firefighter battled the fire in the kitchen, Davis said.
The woman suffered some smoke inhalation, he said.
Unattended cooking is the suspected cause of the fire, which remains under investigation, Davis said.
The fire was limited to the one apartment, which was in a building that housed eight apartment units. The complex is located near the Houston County Annex on Carl Vinson Parkway.
