My stomach was a little more fat and satisfied after eating at Fatz Cafe in Warner Robins.
Fatz is known for its Calabash Chicken, which can be grilled or breaded, on a salad, alone or in a wrap.
What I would stab a fellow dining partner for is the poppy-seed rolls served with cinnamon honey butter.
For those counting calories, it is 273 calories per roll and ounce of butter, however, it didnt stop me from having at least two every time I went.
I had the Calabash Chicken wrap and Caesar salad lunch special on my first visit. I normally do not like wraps because I hate how soggy the wrap gets, but this wrap stayed together until the last bite.
The dipping sauce on the side was a bit spicy for my delicate taste buds and it was difficult to dip my wrap in the little container without part of the contents falling out. Other than that, it was a total win.
My eating partner that day had the Calabash BLT, which was piled high and almost more than a mouthful.
We split the peach cobbler for dessert and it was divine. The sauce wasnt too sickly sweet and it was served piping hot.
The summer specials were almost finished and our waitress let us know that when we tried to order the Cod Father sandwich during the next visit. The restaurant ran out of cod the previous day and was not expecting another shipment. A disappointment to be sure because the name is very catchy.
We settled on the Cuban sandwich, sweet potato fries, skewered shrimp on rice and peach sweet tea.
Everything was delicious. The sweet potato fries were amazing and my fellow taster said the veggies were crisp and the shrimp cooked just right on the skewers.
The flavored peach sweet tea was a hit, with lots of peach flavor.
We tried the peanut butter pie for dessert and the slice was more than two people could eat after having lunch. The flavor had just the right amount of peanut butter without feeling like you were eating it out of the jar. The texture wasnt a mousse, but was dense with a cookie crust.
Fatz is one of my favorite places to go eat in Warner Robins because its a little bit different than the regular chain restaurants.
