The Lighthouse Restaurant at 1402 Old 41 Highway in Milner was destroyed by fire Tuesday, a firefighter says.

Firefighters were dispatched to the blaze shortly after 5 p.m., said Barnesville firefighter Josh Campbell.

Firefighters from several agencies helped fight the fire including the Monroe County Fire Department, Spalding County Fire Department, Pike County Fire Department, the Forsyth Fire Department and the Griffin Fire Department, he said.

Firefighters remained on the scene late Tuesday putting out hot spots, Campbell.

The restaurant was closed for business at the time of the fire, he said. It’s normal operating hours were Wednesdays through Sundays.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, Campbell said.
