Marine Aircraft Group 49 Detachment A received new leadership Monday after a change of command ceremony at Robins Air Force Base.

Lt. Col. David M. Steele assumed command from Lt. Col. Michael H. Johnson, who will move on to Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala., to study at the Air Force Air War College. Steele was stationed at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia.

MAG-49, Det A is co-located at Robins with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 773, the only attack helicopter squadron in the Marine Corps Reserve, which relocated from Dobbins Air Reserve Base in June 2010. The units are comprised of active duty and reserve Marines.
