Monday is the last day to register to vote for the July 31 general primary election.

To register, visit the local county registrar or board of elections. The elections office in Bibb County is located at 2445 Pio Nono Ave., Macon. The Houston County elections office is at 801 Main Street, Room 237, Perry.

A slew of local, state and national candidates are on the ballot, in addition to the proposed statewide transportation special purpose local option sales tax. The T-SPLOST would levy a 1 percent tax on purchases, with the proceeds going toward transportation projects.

In addition, voters in Macon and Bibb County will cast ballots on a bill for consolidation.
