Gates open at McConnell-Talbert Stadium at 6 p.m. Monday for the 30th annual Warner Robins Independence Day Concert featuring country music star Josh Turner, singer Angie Johnson and the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve. The celebration culminates with a fireworks show synchronized to music.
According to a police news release, road closures are expected to start at noon on Third Avenue from Davis Drive to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The road will be closed to all vehicles. Pedestrians may use the road to access only the Demon Valley gate of the stadium. The other entrance is the main gate.
At 4 p.m., Demon Valley Drive is expected to close to vehicles. At 6 p.m., the southbound lane of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from Third Avenue to Huntington Village will close to traffic. Designated parking areas for the event include McConnell-Talbert Stadium, Warner Robins High School, Rumble Academy, Linwood Drive area, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Robins Federal Credit Union and the Homer J. Walker Municipal Complex, according to the release. A handicapped parking area will be designated next to the stadiums main gate. Spaces are limited.
Glass containers, alcoholic beverages, pets (except for service animals) and weapons are not allowed.
