Free rides on Macon Transit Authority buses Wednesday

Published: June 27, 2012

No fares will be collected on Macon Transit Authority buses on Wednesday for “Customer Appreciation Day.”

In an effort to boost ridership and attract more people to public transportation, a vendor fair is set up at Terminal Station with children’s activities and food.

Many of the week’s 33 sponsors such as the Medical Center, Nu-Way Weiners, local colleges, Geico, banks and government agencies will have booths set up during the day.

MTA is promoting “Try Transit Week” through Friday.

Thursday will feature a free preview of a new route to primarily serve Geico employees at Ocmulgee East Industrial Park.

Friday, Terminal Station hosts family activities and a prize drawing for transit authority employees.
