Grisamore is ‘Georgia Author of the Year’ winner

Telegraph columnist Ed Grisamore was honored Saturday night at the 48th Georgia Author of the Year Awards at Kennesaw State University.

Grisamore’s book, “Never Put a Ten-Dollar Tree in a Ten-Cent Hole” won in the “Essays” category. His book, “There Is More than One Way to Spell Wiener: The Story of Nu-Way” was nominated in the “Specialty” category. Both books were published by Mercer University Press in 2011.

The Georgia Author of the Year Awards are the oldest literary awards in the Southeast. There were 105 authors nominated in 12 categories. Author Ferrol Sams was honored with GAYA’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Grisamore is the author of eight books. His audiobook, “Gris & That,” was nominated for a Grammy Award in the “Spoken Word” category in 2006. He was the recipient of the 2010 Will Rogers Humanitarian Award, presented by the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
