Macon man’s calf found shot to death beside the road

Published: June 14, 2012

A Macon man found his 3-day-old calf dead Wednesday morning, with what appeared to be a bullet wound between its eyes, beside the road on Lower Poplar Street near the intersection of Lower Poplar Road.

The man told police he was contacted at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and told his calf was on the side of the road, according to a Macon police report released Thursday.

He contacted water treatment plant workers in the area to see if any drivers had noticed anything suspicious, but no one reported seeing anything out of place, according to the report.
