A Macon woman is accused of setting fire to a vacant house at 1027 Chatham Street this week.

Teri Leigh Williams Pierce, 44, is charged with first degree arson and a probation violation, according to Bibb County Law Enforcement Center records.

Pierce, who lives a couple of blocks away on Pinson Street, was arrested Wednesday evening after investigators talked to nearby neighbors about the fire that engulfed the single-story house at about 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters said there were no utilities hooked up to the building, which had burned before.
