Macon police investigate robberies, officer shoots dog

Macon police are searching for suspects Friday morning in two reported robberies after an officer shot and killed a charging dog Thursday evening, according to dispatchers.

Investigators were looking into a report of a personal armed robbery at about 2:45 a.m. on Faubus Avenue between Log Cabin Drive and Eisenhower Parkway.

Officers were also investigating a reported home invasion shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday on Steeplechase Road near Stinsonville.

Just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday, a police officer shot and killed a dog that bit him on Pershing Avenue.

More details are expected to be released when the incident reports are made available Friday afternoon or Monday.
