Actor Harrison Ford, star of the movie 42 thats currently filming in Macon, arrived in town Thursday night and ate dinner at Natalias.
Before getting into an SUV outside of the Bass Road restaurant, Ford said he had just arrived in Macon and that its his first visit to the city.
Ford, star of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies, is portraying Brooklyn Dodgers team president Branch Rickey, the man who signed Jackie Robinson to a baseball contract. 42 is a biopic about the life of Robinson, who broke baseballs color barrier in 1947.
Natalia del Basso-Orsini, owner of the restaurant, said Ford is probably the most famous actor to have eaten there, though she noted that other celebrities have also dined there.
He was very pleasant, she said. Im not surprised they came here, but happy they came. ... Its big for this town.
She said Ford invited her briefly to sit at his table and asked her about her life and how she came to open the restaurant.
Dr. Thomas Jones, a local endocrinologist, was eating at the restaurant with a colleague and spoke briefly to Ford.
He looks just like youd expect him to look, Jones said. Hes very unpretentious, very friendly.
