UPDATE: Macon woman, baby die as car, train collide in Warner Robins

Published: May 27, 2012

A woman and her 1-month old baby were killed Sunday afternoon when a vehicle struck a train on Ga. 247 and Ignico Drive in Warner Robins, Houston County coroner Daniel Galpin said.

Danell Reid, of the 2200 block of Robin Lyn Court in Macon, died at the scene of the wreck Sunday, as did her 13-month-old baby, Kinsley Reid.

The driver of the car, Willie Lyons, suffered from blunt force trauma upon impact and was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where he underwent surgery. His condition was unknown as of Sunday night, but Galpin said Lyons is expected to make it.

Galpin said Lyons, who is the baby’s father, pulled in front of the train and likely didn’t see it.

The incident remains under investigation.
