Macon police officer shoots, kills fox who was attacking people

A Macon police officer shot and killed a fox Saturday morning that was chasing people at the Macon Garden Apartments, 3601 Mercer University Drive, according to a news release.

According to the news release, the officer responded to a call that the fox was chasing people and attempting to attack them. The apartment manager told the officer the fox had attacked a maintenance man, but the bite didn’t penetrate the clothing.

When the officer spotted the fox, it first ran into the woods, then turned and ran straight at him, forcing the officer to shoot the animal.
