Macon man accused of raping 13-year-old girl

A 27-year-old Macon man has been charged with raping a 13-year-old girl, according to an arrest warrant obtained Tuesday by The Telegraph.

Sheroid Centez Fountain, of Swan Drive, was arrested Friday on charges of rape and damage to property. He is being held at the Bibb County jail without bond, according to jail records.

The girl’s mother told Macon police that her daughter had stayed home from school April 23 because she wasn’t feeling well. At some point that morning, Fountain offered to take the girl to his house to play with his 5-year-old daughter, according to a police report.

At about 10:45 a.m., Fountain dropped off his daughter at his mother’s home and took the 13-year-old girl to a Tindall Heights Apartments on Plant Street. While there, Fountain and the girl “began to play and wrestle around.” Fountain kissed the girl and she told him to stop, according to the report.

Fountain allegedly then raped the girl. Her mother told police he returned the girl to her home at about 3:30 p.m. That night, the mother noticed hickies on the girl’s neck and asked what had happened, according to the report.

The girl was interviewed at the Crescent House on April 24. A medical exam revealed abrasions and bruising. Evidence collected in a sexual assault kit was consistent with intercourse, according to the warrant.

If convicted on the rape charge, Fountain could face up to life in prison, according to the district attorney’s office.
