A Macon business was recognized Wednesday as the 2012 Family Owned Business of the Year in Georgia by the U.S. Small Business Administration. It was one of five awards given to small businesses in the state.
Susan Taylor, owner of Taylor Services, received the award for founding and growing a company that now has employed three generations of her family.
The company, which has 15 full time employees, offers complete portable sanitation services as well as septic and drain services in Middle Georgia. Doing business as Taylor Restrooms 2 Go and Taylor Septic Solutions & Septic Service, the company has a fleet of 13 trucks.
The other small businesses recognized by the SBA were in Savannah, Athens, Columbus and Albany.
