The body of a 52-year-old man was found Saturday morning at 3rd Street Lane and Concord Street, authorities said.

A passerby found the body of Carl Anderson of Macon leaning up against a fence, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Anderson had been dead for several hours, Jones said.

The cause of death was not known and an autopsy was scheduled for Monday, Jones said.

There was blood on the man’s body but no obvious signs of trauma, he said.

Macon police are investigating, Jami Gaudet, the agency’s public information officer, stated in a news release.

The location where the body was found at 8:30 a.m. is an alley of 3rd Street Lane, according to the release. 3rd Street Lane is off of Edgewood Avenue near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
