Bibb County campus police are investigating a complaint of terroristic threats against a Howard Middle School student, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office report.

The sheriff’s office responded to a Saturday complaint by a woman who said her 13-year-old daughter had fought with another 13-year-old female student Friday at school. Friday night, the complainant’s daughter received a Facebook message with a threat to kill her from the student she had fought with earlier, the report stated.

In a March 19 Facebook message, the student also sent the complainant’s daughter a message that said she was getting a gun for her birthday, according to the report. The complainant said she was concerned about the student’s having a gun and harming her daughter or other students.

The complainant had already told campus police about the Facebook message before notifying the sheriff’s office, and campus police said they would handle the case Monday.

A Bibb County school system representative did not return a call from The Telegraph seeking further information.
