Bibb County campus police are investigating a complaint of terroristic threats against a Howard Middle School student, according to a Bibb County Sheriffs Office report.
The sheriffs office responded to a Saturday complaint by a woman who said her 13-year-old daughter had fought with another 13-year-old female student Friday at school. Friday night, the complainants daughter received a Facebook message with a threat to kill her from the student she had fought with earlier, the report stated.
In a March 19 Facebook message, the student also sent the complainants daughter a message that said she was getting a gun for her birthday, according to the report. The complainant said she was concerned about the students having a gun and harming her daughter or other students.
The complainant had already told campus police about the Facebook message before notifying the sheriffs office, and campus police said they would handle the case Monday.
A Bibb County school system representative did not return a call from The Telegraph seeking further information.
