Forsyth motorcyclist killed in I-75 wreck near Arkwright Road

Published: March 24, 2012

A 41-year-old Monroe County man died Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle and slammed into a median barrier on Interstate 75 in northern Bibb County.

Waylon Harold Hampton of Forsyth was riding a 2001 Harley-Davidson when he crashed “at a high rate of speed” shortly after 7:30 p.m., Bibb Coroner Leon Jones said.

Hampton was headed north on the freeway, between the Riverside Drive and Arkwright Road interchanges, when he ran off the road and struck a post that supports strands of barrier cables in the highway median, Jones said.
