Jakob Gollon scored 19 points to lead Mercer to a 61-53 win over Lipscomb Wednesday in the quarterfinals A-Sun tournament at the University Center.

Gollon’s 3-pointer with 55 seconds left appeared to be the final dagger to put away the Bison.

Langston Hall and Travis Smith both scored 11 for the Bears, and Bud Thomas added 10. Zavion Williams led Lipscob with 17 points.

Mercer will play either USC-Upstate or Florida Gulf Coast at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the tournament semifinals.

The Bears (22-10) were a perfect 10-of-10 from the foul line over the final 3:48 of the game.

Lipscomb (13-18) was tied with the Bears at the half, and the Bison remained within a basket of the tournament hosts until the final minute of the game.
