WARNER ROBINS -- Warner Robins police are offering a free basic handgun class for women in April.
Topics include state laws on private ownership and on carrying handguns, safety, selection, maintenance and the basics of shooting, a Warner Robins police news release stated.
The class has three sessions, and attendance at all three is mandatory, the release stated.
The first two sessions are offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 9 and 11, and the third from 8 a.m. to noon April 14. The classes are scheduled to be held at the Warner Robins police training center at 210 Stalnaker Ave.
Participants are required to bring a good-quality handgun, proper caliber, 50 rounds of ammunition, and eye and ear protection.
