UPDATE: Macon police officer to be fired after admitting he kept TV mistakenly delivered to his home

Published: February 15, 2012

A Macon police officer has been recommended for firing after admitting he kept a TV mistakenly delivered to his home, according to police.

Anthony James Cason, 25, and his wife, 33-year-old Felicia Jane Cason, are charged with theft by taking and are being held at the Bibb County jail, according to jail records.

Tommy Pike said he was expecting a new 40-inch TV to be delivered by UPS Jan. 19, but the TV was mistakenly delivered to a neighboring apartment building at Brookwood Apartments on Vista Circle.

Pike said he received a call from Macon police Wednesday informing him that the Casons had been taken into custody.

“They helped me keep my faith in the Macon Police Department,” Pike said of the investigators who worked on the case. “People shouldn’t be afraid (to report a crime) because someone is an officer of the law.”

Police recovered the TV after serving a search warrant at the Casons’ new home on Oak Haven Avenue, according to a police news release.
