Haul in the firewood and pull out the coats as an Arctic blast is about to hit this weekend with high winds and bitter cold.
The National Weather Service wants all to stay alert as snow is even possible Saturday in northern Georgia.
Gusts of up to 40 miles per hour could rip through Macon, Warner Robins and surrounding communities from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, according to the wind advisory.
Sustained winds out of the northwest at 20 to 25 miles per hour are also forecast.
Caution is advised as driving could be difficult in the stronger winds.
Everyone should be prepared for possible power outages as trees could topple and falling limbs could bring down power lines.
Have warm clothing at hand as temperatures will plummet through the day after a low in the upper-30s initially warms up in bright sun.
Morning morning temperatures in the 40s and 50s will be dropping to the 40s and mid-30s by late afternoon before sinking to the low-20s by Sunday morning.
Brisk breezes will make the temperature feel more like freezing as the sun begins to set.
Wind chills will be in the teens overnight in Middle Georgia and near zero Sunday morning in the northern mountains.
The freeze will devastate Japanese magnolia and other blossoms and growing plants.
Cut flowers Saturday morning, bring in or protect tender plants and don't forget to make sure pets are warm.
