A Baldwin County woman died Friday morning after she was fatally shot at her home off Ga. 24 on the west side of the county.

Sheriff Bill Massee said it appears as though the woman’s family thought a prowler was breaking into the house just after 6 a.m. and her husband shot her using a handgun.

Massee said there was no criminal intent in the shooting.

Names of the woman and her husband have not been released.
