Wilcox's Marshall enrolls at Kansas junior college

Nick Marshall has enrolled at Garden City Community College in Kansas, according to his high school football coach Mark Ledford.

Marshall enrolled at Garden City earlier this week.

“I think this is a great fit for Nick,” Ledford said late Wednesday night.

The freshman cornerback was dismissed from the Georgia football program last week, along with two other teammates. Marshall played in 13 games this year for the Bulldogs, mostly on special teams, finishing with five tackles.

The Wilcox County product was expected to play a bigger role in 2012, probably as a backup cornerback. He was a four-star recruit out of high school, and as a quarterback, he led Wilcox County to the GHSA Class A championship as a junior.

Marshall was a two-time All-Middle Georgia player of the year in both football and basketball.
