Bibb Countys tornado sirens are expected to wail after 9 a.m. Wednesday as the state observes a tornado drill as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.
A tornado warning will be issued through NOAA weather radio sometime between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., according to a news release from the National Weather Service.
There will not be a test tornado watch issued, nor will there be an all-clear sounded following the drill.
To be prepared for potentially turbulent weather this spring, residents should identify a safe room indoors to seek refuge.
If caught outside, seek shelter in an outbuilding, lie in a ditch or drive to safety, if possible.
In the event of bad weather Wednesday morning, the drill will be moved to Friday at the same time.
