All lanes of northbound Interstate 75 are open after an early morning traffic fatality.

Macon police fatality investigators are trying to determine why a Macon man left northbound I-75 near the Hardeman Avenue exit.

Frederico Napier, 24, of Treadway Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after his vehicle was found at about 3:30 a.m. Monday, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Napier apparently lost control of his 2006 Mustang GT, hit a guardrail, went down an embankment and was thrown from the car, Jones said.

Another vehicle reportedly hit debris and was in the middle of the road when authorities arrived, Jones said.

Macon police closed the two right northbound lanes of I-75 just past the Hardeman Avenue exit as they investigated the crash.
