Time’s running out to vote for local referendums, presidential primary

Published: February 6, 2012

Monday is the last day to register to vote for the March 6 presidential preference primary and local referendums.

In addition to the presidential primary, voters in Houston, Peach and Monroe counties will decide whether to approve proposals to renew a special purpose local option sales tax in their individual counties.

To register, potential voters must be U.S. citizens and legal residents of Georgia and the county where the ballot will be cast. They also must be at least 17½ years old to register and 18 years old by election day to vote in that election.

In general, voter registration forms may be picked up at local board of elections offices, public libraries and city halls. For more information, contact your local election office or visit the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page, www.sos.ga.gov/mvp.
