The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce recognized outgoing President Megan Smith and inducted new officers at its annual meeting Friday.
Smith is leaving Perry for a job in Washington, and Friday was her last day on the job. A search is currently under way for her replacement, said Bonnie Giles, event and fundraising coordinator for the chamber.
On the chamber board, Rob Brooks was inducted as the new chairman. Other officers of the board are: Michael Chalmers, immediate past chairman; Beth McLaughlin, vice chairwoman; Grace Kirksey, treasurer; and Kellye Moore, legal counsel.
The following awards were presented at the meeting:
James E. Worrall Volunteer of the Year -- Dr. Stacey Carter-Fight of Perry Chiropractic Health Center;
Seabie Hickson Award -- Davis Cosey of Davis Oil Co.;
Business of the Year -- Chick-fil-A at Sam Nunn Boulevard, owned by David Grossnickle; and
Diplomat of the Year -- Jamie Jones of AgGeorgia Farm Credit.
